This program will explore the critical components of fire department Continuity of Operations Plan to establish policies, procedures, or agreements to ensure that essential functions of emergency services will continue to be performed during an emergency that directly impacts the operations or operability of the fire department’s equipment, staffing, facilities, or information management systems. The purpose is to identify key components for a Continuity of Operations Plan for a municipal fire department to make it, emergency services, and the local government more resilient.
